Mini Camp

Sherwood Forest is a year-round youth development organization with programs uniquely anchored in a residential camp experience where 80% of campers live at or below the federal poverty line. By balancing traditional camp adventures with evidence-based programs that reinforce and support school-year learning, Sherwood Forest connects with, educates, and inspires youth of the Greater St. Louis area from under-served and under-resourced communities. We accept new campers from 1st- 6th grade and give preference to those who qaulitfy for free and reduced lunch. We have five different activity departments, Arts, Aquatics, Adventure Sports, Reading and Ideas, and Outdoor Living Skills. Sherwood Forest is an 86-year-old nonprofit that is a year-round youth development organization with programs uniquely anchored in a residential camp experience. Our residential program consists of traditional camp activities like canoeing and tie-dye, as well as reading, ecology, and social and emotional learning. 1st and 2nd graders attend a 7-day program, 3rd-5th graders attend a 14-day program, and 6th-9th graders attend a 28-day program.
