Are you interested in the world of architecture as a potential career field? This workshop is the first of a planned sequence of five courses for youth who want to dive deeper into architecture. In collaboration with LNB Studio, Intro to the Design Field will teach participants how architects think, design, and build through hands-on projects, models, and materials exploration. Participants will explore the full scope of the architecture industry from concept to build to presentation under the expert guidance of working professionals from across the field. Youth in this workshop will be eligible for participation in a planned sequence of workshops, including Architecture, Interior Design, Laser Cutting, and a Capstone Build, and will have the opportunity to connect with mentors in the field while building a portfolio suitable for college applications.

The Advanced Economics for Leaders program is designed for students who have completed a high school or AP economics class. During the week, instructors will introduce college level intermediate micro- and macro-economic topics to help prepare students for the more advanced coursework. Lessons examine economic models and theories behind economic growth, demand curves, asset pricing, and more.

Entrepreneurship in the Global Economy (EGE) goes beyond what most pre-college entrepreneurship programs teach. Participants not only learn practical skills, like writing a business plan or how to pitch an idea, but also about the economic principles that make successful entrepreneurship possible. To build a business, an entrepreneur must understand incentives and the role institutions, like government, play in setting the “rules of the game”.

Our Middle School Summer Academy offers academic enrichment courses in mathematics, science, written and oral dialogue strategies, career exploration, personal development and empowerment activities that support high school and college planning.

Our Upright Bass Camp offers a focused and enriching experience for students with at least one year of bass-playing experience. Participants will engage in daily stretching, technique classes, masterclasses, bass chamber ensembles, and private lessons led by expert faculty. The camp concludes with a final concert showcasing all campers.

This weeklong jazz camp provides the opportunity for youth to participate in a fun and intense jazz-learning experience under the direction of professional staff led by Dr. Matt Pivec, Director of Jazz Studies at Butler University. The faculty will include local jazz professionals.

Do you love thrills, chills, and exciting rides at amusement parks? This unique and dynamic camp is tailor-made for young minds with a passion for creativity, physics, engineering, and the magic of amusement parks. Throughout the camp, campers embark on an exciting journey to design and create their very own amusement park attractions while learning about and using magnetic forces, the physics of engineering, 3D printing, CAD, and hands-on modeling to develop their part of our camp amusement park.

Spend a week immersed in your passions–choose one major course and one minor course for the week and spend your time in breakout sessions where you’ll build new skills through hands-on experience.

On your final day of camp, you’ll be able to showcase your accomplishments with your peers, family, and friends at an exciting camp expo.

Join Butler Theatre faculty, alumni, and students for an immersive camp experience, perfect for both beginners and those with performing or technical theatre experience. Participants can sharpen their acting skills while also exploring theatre design and technical production. Classes will include stage combat, Shakespeare acting, costume design, lighting design, and more. Hands-on sessions in both performing and technology offer campers a comprehensive look at both onstage and behind-the-scenes creativity.
