Are you interested in the world of architecture as a potential career field? This workshop is the first of a planned sequence of five courses for youth who want to dive deeper into architecture. In collaboration with LNB Studio, Intro to the Design Field will teach participants how architects think, design, and build through hands-on projects, models, and materials exploration. Participants will explore the full scope of the architecture industry from concept to build to presentation under the expert guidance of working professionals from across the field. Youth in this workshop will be eligible for participation in a planned sequence of workshops, including Architecture, Interior Design, Laser Cutting, and a Capstone Build, and will have the opportunity to connect with mentors in the field while building a portfolio suitable for college applications.

Participants not only learn practical skills, like writing a business plan or how to pitch an idea, but also about the economic principles that make successful entrepreneurship possible. To build a business, an entrepreneur must understand incentives and the role institutions, like government, play in setting the “rules of the game”.
