This week will be filled with different kinds of poetry. We will read poetry, write poetry, and at the end of the week we will publish and illustrate our creations! Students will have the opportunity to flex their creativity and write about topics that matter to them.

Student projects will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family.  Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.  Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years.

Be Your Baby’s First Doctor! Students will roleplay the key responsibilities of a pediatrician and learn how to care for a baby. Participants adopt their own adorable plush and learn how to change, bathe, burp, swaddle, and bottle feed a baby.

Become a paw-some veterinarian! Camp participants will roleplay the key responsibilities in a vet office and learn how to care for their plush canine patients. These future veterinarians will learn how to remove ticks, perform a nose-to-tail exam, understand proper animal nutrition and hydration, decode dog body language, and more!

This program is designed for individuals that are interested in learning more about how to be a camp counselor and working with kids in a pool environment.

Are you interested in writing? Do you enjoy engaging activities that will sharpen your storytelling skills and bring your characters to life? In this class, we will explore different types of creative writing and develop multiple pieces throughout the week.

Using a curriculum tailored for your child, Fit Penmanship builds fluency in fine motor (touch, squeeze, tap, lace, grasp), basic strokes (lines, circles, loops), writing alphabet (upper and lowercase), writing digits, form and size, and copying text.

This no cost, online course, is taught by Kelly Thomas, web and graphic designer. Students will learn the fundamental principles of design, such as color theory, typography, layout, and compostion.

Take an oath and use real medical tools to keep your newly adopted plush horse happy and healthy. Conquer the great outdoors! Camp participants will learn how to plan for an outdoor adventure, roleplay emergency situations in the wild, and prepare for natural disasters. These future emergency medics will learn about venomous snakes, hypothermia, wild animal encounters, poisonous plants, distress signals, forest fires, tornadoes, mosquito bites, and so much more!

Washers... Pickleball... Ladder Ball... and more! You will learn about tournament brackets while competing in a variety of fun games. There will be something for everyone!
