Avengers assemble! Join me this week in bringing some of our favorite Marvel characters to life through food. We will make banana cupcakes with a caramel buttercream topped with Mjolnir-a Marshmallow and a pretzel stick. Next, we will discover who is Team Iron Man vs Team Captain America with a vanilla cake donut decorated to represent each superhero with their respective colors. We will also be making some chocolate cake pops dipped in red candy melts and piped black webs to represent the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Smash some Hulk green vanilla pudding cups with a chocolate cookie crumble top. Finally, a honey cookie with yellow and black honey glaze for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

We are going to step it up for our last week with some five-star desserts. French patisserie chefs will be impressed with our silky-smooth vanilla crème brulee with caramelized sugar crust, light and airy chocolate mousse with cherry jam and whipped cream, creamy panna cotta with a salted caramel base and strawberry fruit tart with a crispy shortbread crust and vanilla pastry cream filling topped with strawberries and glazed with an apricot glaze. During Saint Louis University's Robotics Summer Academy, high school students work in teams to build their own robots and custom hardware, and study mechanical, electrical and computer engineering in order to design and fabricate robot parts. This day camp also offers the opportunity for participants to meet with current SLU engineering students and faculty, visit SLU engineering labs and facilities, and explore campus. At the end of camp, students will have their own functioning robot to keep. Academy participants take part in friendly competitions with the robots and are allowed to take them home at the end of the week. Saint Louis University's DCHS Summer Healthcare Exploration Camp is designed to give underrepresented high school rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in a future in health care an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the academic programs offered at the college. Participants will learn about all DCHS academic programs, which prepare students to become: athletic trainers, health information specialists, medical imaging specialists, medical laboratory scientists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physician assistants, radiation therapists, registered dietitians, speech-language pathologists and many other health care professions. In addition to educational activities across various health sciences disciplines, students will receive SLU gear and be entered to win a free iPad. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2023.
